Almost every Indian bride dreams of wearing a sabyasachi on her special day! Whether it’s your big fat Indian wedding or a destination wedding; the affair would certainly be lacking without the charm and exquisiteness of a Sabyasachi design. The couturier took to Instagram last month to introduce his much awaited bridal collection of the season. Titled ‘The Neo Bohemian’, he dropped the collection in a five part series. It came as no surprise to us; the internet was totally infatuated with Sabyasachi Summer 2020 Collection!
The collection offers a variety of unique prints and colours and includes not only lehengas and sarees, but shararas and modern pant suits as well. We’ve broken down the most remarkable looks for you.
Sabyasachi Summer 2020 Collection
Neo-BohemianÂ
Undoubtedly, the highlight of this collection was block prints with heavy embroidery borders. We loved the multi colored stripes set between intricate gold work. The Kutch influence was particularly visible in the rich mirror work. Sabya used rustic colors, ranging from earthy greens to coppers to beautiful ambers.
In addition, the Nani “Bucket” made an appearance in almost every look. We also spotted Khadi prints every now and then!
Overall, the whole laid-back and hippy vibe was on point! Don’t you agree?
Modern Folklore Collection
In contrast, Sabyasachi kept the prints for ‘Modern Folklore’ quite simple.There seemed to be an almost brooding and gothic agitation to the collection. Frequent colors seen were black and ivory. Moreover, we loved the floral and gold embroidery work on the borders. This gave a more feminine touch to the kurtas and anarkalis.
The models also sported large black totes. This further made the designs practical and realistic.

Tangerines and scarlets to sea greens and mustards; vibrant lehengas and floral blouses were draped to perfection with netted and banarasi style dupattas. The flowing fabrics seem perfect for a light summer wedding! We love how majestic the cholis look styled with heavy chokers, yet effortless at the same time.
The attack of bold colours in this collection is welcoming. You can choose from a variety of different styles for different functions. Besides, the signature V-neck is not to be missed. It elongates the neck and torso.

Aptly titled “Cocktails and cosmopolitans”; this cocktail collection by Sabyasachi brings in 90’s retro chic and blends it with contemporary silhouettes seamlessly. The glamour quotient is high with these blingy numbers. Interestingly named Mumbai Mimosa, Very Berry Mulberry, Rose Martini and Chutney Cherry among others, the colors are definitely breathtaking.
